Fairfax County Equestrian Task Force Survey

Fairfax County needs your help! The Board of Supervisors of Fairfax County has appointed an Equestrian Task Force to consider the future developments for horse related activities in the county.  The Task Force will be considering needs and services relating to the equestrian community and will present recommendations the the Board of Supervisors in March 2012. The Task Force is using a survey as part of its effort to obtain information from a variety of sources. Your assistance will help shape the recommendations of the Task Force to the Board of Supervisors.

More Equestrian Facilities than We Need?

Fairfax4Horses would like your help in setting the record straight on equestrian facilities in Fairfax County. A draft report prepared by the Fairfax County Park Authority, "Great Parks, Great Communities," quoted in both the Fairfax Community Times and the Washington Post, says that we have seven equestrian facilities in the county. The report further states that this number of facilities exceeds the standards for equestrian facilities for a county of our size

The Fairfax County Park Board

The Fairfax County Park Authority Board is appointed by the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors.  The twelve appointees are comprised of one representative from each of the nine magisterial districts, plus three at-large members.  The board sets policy and establishes priorities for the park agency.  Public meetings are held on the second and fourth Wednesdays of the month at 7:30 p.m. in Suite 927 at 12055 Government Center Pkwy., Fairfax.
