FAIRFAX4HORSES IN VIENNA HALLOWEEN PARADE
Fairfax4Horses is looking for equestrians who would like to ride their own horses in the Town of Vienna Halloween Parade.
The theme is: Celebrating Music and Theater Through the Decades and we will be judged as we go past the reviewing stand. This is the year to get into costume—riders, horses, and walkers too.
The parade is Wednesday, Oct. 23th at 7:00 p.m. and will go along Maple Avenue in Vienna from the Giant to Center Street. The parade is rain or shine, but Fairfax4Horses will not ride if it is raining. The ride is about half a mile long.
Please remember that the parade will take place in the dark, and there will be crowds, noise, and unusual costumes. You should plan to participate only if your horse can remain calm in this type of situation. Also, there is no throwing of candy or other items.
All participants must sign a Fairfax4Horses waiver. We will send the form via e-mail to people who plan to ride, along with additional details about the parade. Riders younger than 18 years must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
We also need side walkers to walk between the horses and the parade-watchers. Please wear an appropriate costume, a cowboy hat or a riding hat at the parade, to indicate you are with the Halloween riders.
If you would like to participate, please let us know ASAP. We will send details in a subsequent message.
